Director of Retail Deployment
**General Description**
Lead the Implementation and Deployment teams within Retail Development in the deployment of fixtures and shop in shops within the retail fleet in various channels and partner locations nationally. Work closely with Retail Design and Fabrication teams, in addition to managing up to 10 Project Managers to improve the Samsung in store deployment dates. Partner with Account Managers and propose a formal strategy which enhances the impact of the brand and creates multiple levels of touch points for a broad spectrum of consumers, both flagships stores and smaller formats where appropriate. Lead a team of 3 Lead PMs in the overall development process for scheduling, bidding, awarding and installation planning of shops and fixtures in the fleet. Reorganize, develop, lead and motivate existing team with a view to building longer term capability for the global retail function. Lead audit of all existing external partners, organize bidding process where appropriate and begin to rationalize where possible to drive consistency and level of quality of execution in market. Develop consistent planning within each category and work closely with category partners to develop long term plans. Develop project and program budgets in accordance with project plans. Build relationships within the Center of Excellence team with cross functional departments such as Finance, Innovations, Digital, and Operations.
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
Possess a Degree preferably with a major in Architecture, Interior / Industrial design or the equivalent with at least 15+ years of relevant experience in retail development and construction. Proven track record in interpreting brand strategy into retail design, strategy and implementation Project management experience especially in managing a multi functional team in retail implementation. Strong leadership background in Development Strategy / Operations, with a proven track record and years of success in a well- established retail firm. Proven track record in managing the career path of multiple construction project managers. Manage project schedules and reports and escalate issues as needed. Prioritize work flow in accordance with the project team's capabilities. Ability to manage budgets and budget owners of cross functional teams and report budget status weekly. Ability to review, manage and implement changes to construction documents and engineered "shop" drawings. Ability to review vendor capabilities both in factory and in office environments and enhance their ability to be a better vendor partner for future projects. Ability to take ownership of development and change management implementation in a large/ complex organization. Strong collaboration - ability to collaborate with both internal & external parties, energize team towards common objectives. Communicates well, both verbal and written, across all cultures and present findings and case studies from time to time to executive leadership. Keen eye for design, retail concepts and shop operations. Ability to negotiate contract terms with external fixture, installation and architect partners is preferred. Good analytical and high adaptability skills. Travel up to 50% of the time.
