DSHS Workfirst Program Supervisor
Do you have expertise in determining eligibility for public assistance programs and ready for your next career step? Economic Services Administration_ (ESA)_, Community Services Division is seeking a highly motivated WorkFirst Program Supervisor to join their hardworking team at our Mount Vernon Office (CSO).
As part of our dynamic leadership team, you will supervise WorkFirst Program Specialists (WFPS) who help customers thrive by providing the resources and support they need to achieve self-sufficiency. The WFPS determine public assistance eligibility and support customers as they work towards meeting their economic goals. Our goals are to assist and support Workfirst families by working in conjunction to develop a plan, address strengths and challenges in preparation for obtaining employment and training opportunities leading to positive outcomes and self-sufficiency.
**Some of what you will do**
* Hire and train staff in case decision making, gathering accurate and complete information, organization information
* Supervise WorkFirst Program Specialists in the Mount Vernon CSO
* Establish and monitor workloads and quality standards for team
* Provide feedback, monitor and evaluate staff performance
* Serve as a consultant regarding case planning and decision making, ensuring staff consider all barriers to self sufficiency
* Develop strategies for reducing caseloads, meeting participation goals and other performance targets
* Interpret and apply all policies and procedures for programs assigned to unit
* Review and understand a variety of reports to ensure performance standards are met
* Partner with department leaders to develop strategic plans
* Support growth and development opportunities for staff
* Work collaboratively with the core WorkFirst partners in leading strategic efforts of the Skagit Island Local Planning Area partnerships
* Work with the Mount Vernon and Oak Harbor CSO Management Team to develop strategies that support the overall performance goals of both the Mount Vernon CSO and the Oak Harbor CSO
**We are looking for professionals who have successfully demonstrated:**
* Knowledge of WorkFirst program, state and federal welfare and welfare reform laws
* Leadership skills to supervise train and develop staff
* Analyzing and evaluating performance data, identify trends, and create reports, graphs, and data sheets to communicate data and issues to staff, management team members and partners
* Skilled at independently assessing situations and making sound professional and independent decisions
* Time management and organizational skills, flexible, independent and proven critical thinking skills
* Communicating in person and in writing with management, peers, direct staff, clients and the public to achieve the Agency mission, model appropriate behaviors to staff and promote a healthy and cooperative work environment
* Ability to supervise and organize case management, financial eligibility, and customer service staff units and work flow
**Who should apply?**
One year experience as a WorkFirst Program Specialist or Financial Services Specialist 5 or two years' experience Financial Services Specialist 4.
